Anyway. The letters. Nathan loves these things.
He likes to hold them up one at a time and ask what each one is, and what words they're for. And he actually remembers a healthy handful of them! N is for Nathan, A is for Anneliese, S is for sister, F is for Frank (one of his school friends), 3 is for Nathan is three, etc.
He thinks it's great fun when we spell out words and talk to him about what they say. And he recognizes a few -- like his name. (Yes, yes, we have moved beyond the days of only being able to spell Clemson.) A few weeks ago, he and Another Nathan spent one evening playing some version of word scramble that kept

Maybe when the house remodels/repairs are done and we have our other bathrooms back, we will take lots more baths** and Nathan will practice his spelling in the tub instead. And maybe we'll find the bucket these letters originally came in so that our children can end their love affair with the cardboard box*** already. Maybe.
