So one thing I left out of my post yesterday about the grandparent visits is that my mom showed up with a toddler bike as a big-brother present for Nathan. Yep, you read that right:
a bike. Not a tricycle (or tri-bicycle as Nathan calls it), but a toddler-sized bicycle. Complete with training wheels and a handle for pushing.
If you're assuming he's a little
small unskilled to use it correctly, you would be right. And although normally I would firmly insist on toys he's not ready for being put away until he
is ready (no sense letting him see it and touch it for months until he
can use it, and then he's bored with it), but in this case the bike is actually ok. He
really likes it. And he wants to
ride it (not just push it around by the handle, though he enjoyed that too). He can't actually do the pedals yet, but I bet he'll get it soon. (And if not, we'll put it away and try again next month so he doesn't tire of it and get frustrated.)
He was
so so happy out on the street in front of our house, sitting high on his big-brother bike. He must have told us it was red a thousand times, and told us that his "hat" had a car on it a thousand
and one times.

I think it's so cute that he calls it a
bicycle. We might have the only two-year-old on the planet who prefers to say
bicycle instead of
bike. :) And yes, some of you might have recognized my
Grandpa's (now hairless) poodle Tammy, who came along with my mom for the visit.
Stay tuned to see when he learns how to pedal!

Well the bicycle is red, and his hat does have a car on it. Good looking bike, even better looking kid!
Go by Bike, Nathan!!
My back says he'd better learn how to pedal quite soon!
